Hello People
Well the N2 just wasnt performing with all my modifications properly and a good friend had an AEM EMS4 so i think i am about to become the worlds first AEM powered Cappo.
And what a ball ache it is turning out to be already.
1st How are you guys doing your ignition timing with only the 3point rotor shaped trigger in the distributor?
I gave up in the end and now have a lovely little 36-1 phonic wheel and sensor mounted to my crank pulley.
The AEM is giving em some great additional features which a front wheel mounted ABS reluctor and sensor means I now have 2 stage launch control
I have recently changed the turbo for something much stronger and bigger so much stronger it will survive the new antilag feature.... (only to be used to drain the blood from wannabe boy racers faces).
So its being mapped today after the injectors had to be re wired for sequential injection and it now running the coil from a MR2 as the AEM has a lower power ignition driver Spark is 10X better now though.
But I am just curious how you did the ignition timing with only the 3 point rotor?
Ill keep you posted its going to be almost a completely different car to when I dropped it off having a paddle clutch and a 2 way man plate diff in the rear so should be a little bit of an animal. |

Wow, that's an interesting story you got there !
I'd love to get more details about your turbo 
Sequential ignition & injection is nice, I'd like to do the same with my Adaptronic someday, but the wiring and needed parts are giving my a headache in advance.
If I remember correctly, we are running wasted spark, so the spark is always fired to all 3 cylinders, and has an effect only on the "correct" one.
By the way, if you could give more details about how you did it (crank sensor, coil...), with pictures, it would be great ! |

Tiny, sounds like it will be an "animal" alright, well done.
We basically just run the same wasted spark set up as the standard ecu's do with the 3 point reluctor. I have a Toyota 24 tooth CAS modified and ready to fit into the standard distributor base (when I find one) with Nissan coilover plug ignition coils. Just been a bit slack on the job as yet but will fit it soon. Been busy rebuilding my red cappo LAT33 at the same time so when thats finished it will probably be the next job and be fitted to my silver one KOF33. |

Well the garage that have done the fitting would be interested in making more if there was a Market for them amongst you adaptronics guys it would be a replacment bottom pulley with a 36-1 phonic wheel and a engine mounted bracket to hold the pickup securely |

Well I have had it Properly tuned now and havent gone silly with the boost yet at 0.8 bar were making 100hp at the wheels and at 1.3bar 128hp at the wheels not huge figures but I love it! Need some 500 cc injectors and water or mth injection before I go higher as im about maxing out the turbo at 1.3bar. |

What turbo do you have again ?
130whp is very nice anyway, and more than enough to have plenty of fun I guess 
This is around 150hp at the crank, which is more or less my goal. Cheers for reaching it before me  |

that's a very respectable figure well done
aside from the bigger turbo & injectors what have you done to achieve this?
I'm presuming some head work and cam timing? |

He's got forged pistons (and also conrods I think) and aggressive camshafts. Don't remember if there's an upgraded intercooler. |

Vernier Cams, Port Polish, Scroll manifold, 500cc injectors, 720Crux Forged pistons rods and Cryo crank. Mocal Oil Cooler. Suzuki Sport RHB131 turbo that has been sent to Turbo technics as it had been leaking oil like a b*tch! Turbo Technics advised me it wasnt going to flow the desired air so they upped the A/R ratio fitted it with ball bearings and fitted a twin scroll unit. by messing about with the housings. Monster Sport 2.2 gasket. Alloy Radiator with 14inch pull Spal fan Suzuki Sport Intercooler Lightened fly Suzuki sport Paddle Clutch and pressure plate. Take off front bumper really helps with airflow to the intercooler and oil cooler. Going to duct some air to the front calipers at some point and fit seom front fogs in the other gaps.
the ECU helped alot smoothing out the timing once I had quietened down the head and trying to keep the AFR in check.
Its about perfect now short of coilover suspension, a full interior retrim and a Takeoff rear spoiler to balance the front. Im about done with the car.
Ill be looking to move onto an AZ-1 or the new Toyobaru GT86 in about may June when they are up for good money again. I don't honestly know what she will be worth then Id hope about 5k but we will see. |

That's a nice list. There are a few things there I would love to steal from you 
By the way, twin scroll on a three cylinder ? Seems a weird idea to me, as its goal is to separate the flow coming from each pair of cylinder on a 4 pot engine. |

thats interesting so you've kept the standard cam timing and just been able to set it up correctly?
so apart from the hi spec of turbo and the larger capacity you don't have to do much to the breathing to support this sort of power
I was just thinking that the standard throttle looks a little small for what its got to flow so that may be worth investigating |

i looked at the standard throttle and theres not a huge amount you can really do to it as it has all the gubbins beneath it to support it. If i wanted more power I would probably look at making a custom intake manifold removing all the need for the IACV It will really improve the flow into the head That suddenly becomes big money and i think a better set of cams will do more until I can afford the inlet manifold. |
